ScottoKatana (PCB Edition) Keyboard

ScottoKatana (PCB Edition) Keyboard

The ScottoKatana (PCB Edition) is a 35-key katana staggered keyboard with a 7u spacebar, 128x64 OLED, 6 RGB LEDs, and four 1.25u function keys. For my version of the build, I used Akko POM silver switches which feel okay but bottom out fast... they work better for gaming than typing. On the OLED, I like to run a little bongo cat animation and although it's mostly useless, it's still kinda neat.

Getting One

If you’re interested in getting one assembled, contact me and we can discuss the components and other details for a commissioned build. However, most of the parts to build one yourself are available on ScottoKeebs:

If you print the case yourself, you will also need:

Optional:

If you opt to manufacture the case yourself, the CAD files to CNC the plexiglass cover are available here in addition to the RGB diffuser. However if you purchase the 3D printed case from us, you’ll receive both of these.

OLED:

Not all OLED displays are made the same, although this board should work with most SSD1306 OLED panels, if you plan on using the 3D printed case we highly recommend purchasing an OLED from us as it is matched to work with the plexiglass cover. We cannot ensure everything will fit if you use an OLED not from our shop.

Firmware

You can find the most up-to-date firmware on the ScottoKeebs Github repository. Also available are the pre-compiled firmware files that are ready to flash:

default.uf2 - Default QMK keymap in QWERTY.
vial.uf2 - Default QMK keymap in QWERTY with Vial configurator support.
scotto.uf2 - My personal QMK keymap in Colemak.

After flashing vial.uf2, you should load the vial.vil configuration file within the Vial application to ensure everything functions as expected.
